Unique Maritime Group proudly announced a new addition to their company, Steve MacMillan. It was confirmed that he will hold the position as UMG’s Global Project Director (Diving Division) and he will also be UMG’s Global QHSE Director. According to the company’s announcement Steve will be deployed at the head office of UMG located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Unique Maritime Group was founded in 1993 and currently has over 500 employees all around the world. The company has several local bases in the United States, South Africa, Nigeria, United Kingdom, Singapore, India and the Middle East. UMG caters for various oil and gas industry demands that involve rentals and sales of equipment for diving sector, survey and inspection sector and marine market sector.
Steve will manage complex projects related to commercial diving and supervise UMG staff. He will also concentrate on the development of UMG’s QHSE.
Steve was an air diver in Singapore during the beginning of his diving career in 1981. He later became a saturation diver and eventually a supervisor. Steve was an operations manager and International Diving Director for McDermott in 1995. He also currently holds several positions in IMCA as Far East Chairman and Diving Division Chairman.
UMG’s CEO Himanshu Gandhi welcomed Steve during a board meeting and said, “We at UMG are profoundly delighted to have Steve on board. Steve brings with him a wide array of experience, energy and knowledge of the diving industry. This move will further bring in significant amount of positive changes in UMG’s diving division. We would now look at undertaking new, challenging and complex projects for customers across the globe. We also look forward to further develop the QHSE culture at all our offices under Steve’s apt guidance.”
