ANKARA — US Chevron company has expressed an interest in exploring oil reserves in the Black Sea with the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), told a TPAO official on 15 February.
Sources told the Anatolia Agency that TPAO has received offers from many companies for exploring oil in the Black Sea.
TPAO officials met with their counterparts from Chevron last month.
Earlier, the TPAO signed a cooperation agreement with the US Exxon Mobil company.
“The meetings with Chevron were positive and we expect to reach an agreement by the upcoming summer,” said TPAO’s deputy director general Yurdal Oztas.
According to Oztas, the TPAO also conducts talks with various Japanese, Indian, Russian and Italian companies in order to establish a consortium that will participate in oil and natural gas tenders in Iraq.
