Ten to eleven contractors may bid for two transportation and installation contracts linked to the first two phases of Total’s South Mahakam gas and liquids development off Indonesia.

As earlier reported, Global Industries, Saipem and Hyundai Heavy Industries are among the attendees at the pre-bid meeting held last Friday.

Total had called another pre-bid meeting last Thursday for two other contracts pertaining to the construction of three tripods.

J Ray McDermott and Nippon Steel Construction Indonesia (Nisconi) are among at least six others to have registered for these two packages.

The two contractors are also expected to bid for the T&I contracts, which are due for submission in early September.

South Mahakam is due to start production in 2011 or 2012. Daily production is expected to hit 14,700 barrels per day of liquids and 114 million cubic feet per day of gas.
