Hughes Sub Surface Engineering has completed a 2-month Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) survey and identification campaign on Hinkley Point, a new build nuclear power station located on the Bristol Channel.
Hughes SSE deployed a dive vessel and specialist UXO and survey divers to ensure the area was cleared of any potential UXO threats.
The work confirms that the threat from unexploded ordnance (UXO) has been reduced to as low as is reasonably practicable (ALARP).
General manager, Mike Bailey, said: “Completing these works highlights our commitment to the industry and to our clients. Our teams have vast experience in working in these tough conditions and were able to complete the project without any safety incidents.”
