COLUMBUS, Ohio – Divers were called to Alum Creek just east of Franklin Park Conservatory on a report of a body in the water Monday morning.
At about 10:40 a.m., Columbus police and EMS personnel were called to the area of S. Nelson Road and Franklin Park South on a report of a body in the water.
According to officials at the scene, a group of construction workers saw a body in the middle of the creek and called authorities.
Dispatchers originally said it appeared that the person’s hands were tied behind their back. That later proved to be false.
Divers were called to retrieve the body from Alum Creek.
Detectives said there was no appearance of foul play on the body of the woman, who was in her mid-50s.
The identity of the woman has yet to be released.
