Technip wins deep water Isabela contract

PARIS — BP Exploration and Production has awarded Technip a lumpsum contract for the Isabela project in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication, and installation of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, steel catenary risers, and subsea equipment. 

The project is a subsea tie-back to the semisubmersible platform Na Kika in water depths of approximately 6,300 ft (1,920 m). Read the rest of this entry »

Santos-led JV awards contract for Casino-Henry gas field to Subsea 7

MELBOURNE – The Santos-led joint venture has awarded engineering and construction company Subsea 7 an $80 million contract to install a subsea pipeline for the Casino-Henry gas field development in the Otway basin off western Victoria. 

The work includes installation of a 22-km pipeline that will connect the subsea production tress at the Henry-2 and nearby Netherby fields. Subsea 7 also will install four rigid spool pieces and a 22-km electrohydraulic umbilical cable from Casino-4 to the Pecten East field. Read the rest of this entry »

Oceaneering expanding warehouse space in Maryland

Oceaneering International is expanding in Hanover, Md., to accommodate its growing advanced technologies division.

The Houston-based provider of engineered services to the oil and gas, defense and aerospace industries inked a 46,688 square-foot lease expansion at 6090 Dorsey Road — a building close to its advanced technologies headquarters at 7001 Dorsey Road. Technip awarded Oselvar field development deal

DONG E&P Norge AS has awarded Technip an engineering, procurement, construction and installation lump sum contract, worth in excess of €45 million, for the Oselvar field development.

Global Industries lands US$ 70 million 6 month project in Brazil

CARLYSS, La. -- Global Industries announced today that its Brazil Business Unit has signed a contract with Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for diving, ROV and construction services to be performed offshore Brazil, in the areas of Campos, Santos and Espirito Santo basins.

The 180-day contract is valued at approximately US$ 70 million and has an option for an extension of up to six additional months. Read the rest of this entry »

Diver airlifted after blacking out underwater at UK power station

UNITED KINGDOM — A commercial diver working on the new Pembroke power station was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, in Plymouth, on Saturday after he became unconscious while under water.

Acergy lands shallow water pipeline install project in Angola

LONDON — Acergy S.A. announced the award of the Block 17/18 GEP Phase 2 Project, a contract valued at approximately $110 million from Total E&P Angola and BP Angola (Block 18) B.V. for the installation of over 70km of 24” pipeline from Block 2, together with the associated jumper, PLET and tie-ins, to the Nearshore / Onshore pipeline in water depths up to 40 metres.

Engineering will commence with immediate effect with offshore installation scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2010, using Acergy Polaris, Acergy Hawk and Acergy Legend.

Judge delays decision on Eni, Saipem Nigeria bribe deals

MILAN — An Italian judge has put back a decision on a request by Milan prosecutors to bar Italian energy group Eni and its subsidiary Saipem SpA from conducting business with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), an Eni lawyer said on Tuesday.

The expected ruling is part of a probe by Milan prosecutors into bribery allegations related to construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in Nigeria. Read the rest of this entry »

Diver drowns in Singapore

A Singaporean diver’s body has been found floating near an oil rig, which he was working on, at the Jurong West Anchorage in Tuas, Singapore.
